Pattern notes
- Worked in flat panels and seamed for a custom, comfortable fit.
- Straps are worked in the back loop only to create a stretchy, ribbed texture.
- The small signature heart is added at the very end of the project.
1. Front & Back Panels
The body of the top is worked in two identical flat panels, starting from the bottom hem and shaping gently toward the armholes.

- Row 1: 41 ch [41]
- Row 2: sk, 40 sc [40]
- Rows 3–12: hdc in each stitch across [40]
- Row 13: dec, 36 sc, dec [38]
- Rows 14–22: hdc in each stitch across [38]
- Row 23: dec, 34 sc, dec [36]
- Rows 24–35: hdc in each stitch across [36]
- Row 36: sc in each stitch across [36]
- Fasten off.
- Repeat Rows 1-36 to create the second panel.
- You should now have two identical panels.
2. Ribbed Straps
Create four soft, stretchy straps in Sage Green to frame the neckline and provide comfortable shoulder support.

- Row 1: 31 ch [31]
- Row 2: sk, 30 sc blo [30]
- Rows 3–26: sc blo in each stitch across [30]
- Fasten off.
- Repeat these rows to make a total of 4 straps.
3. Scalloped Neckline
Add a delicate, romantic finish to the top edge of both panels using a simple scallop pattern in Warm Cream.

- Row 1: 36 sc picked up evenly [36]
- Row 2: (2 sk, shell, sl st, 2 sk) × 6 [36]
- Fasten off.
- Repeat Rows 1-2 for the second panel.
4. WithMe signature heart
The same little heart sits on every WithMe original — our way of signing it with love. Use any contrast colour from the project.
- Round 1: 3 tr, 3 dc, ch, tr, ch, 3 dc, 3 tr in a magic ring [15] — Ch 3 first (it doesn't count as a stitch). After the last stitch, ch 3 and sl st into the ring, then pull the ring tight — the dip at the top of the heart forms as you pull.
- Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing the heart in place.
Finishing
- Lay the Front and Back panels flat with right sides facing up.
- Using Warm Cream yarn and a tapestry needle, sew the side seams using a mattress stitch for an invisible finish.
- Attach two Sage Green straps to the front neckline, spacing them evenly, and sew them securely to the corresponding spots on the back panel.
- Try on the top and adjust the strap length if necessary before securing the final stitches.
- Weave in all loose ends neatly on the wrong side of the work.
- Sew the small signature heart in Warm Cream on the lower left hem of the front panel.
Tips from the WithMe studio
- Block your panels before seaming to ensure they are perfectly even and the stitches lay flat.
- Use stitch markers to mark the center of the neckline when attaching the straps to ensure they are perfectly symmetrical.
- If you prefer a longer top, simply add more repeats to the hdc sections in the panel instructions.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use a different weight of yarn?
Yes, but you will need to adjust your foundation chain and row counts to match your gauge. We recommend sticking to a cotton or cotton-blend yarn for the best drape and summer comfort.
How do I adjust the sizing?
To make the top wider, add chains in multiples of 2 to your foundation chain. To make it longer, simply work extra rows in the main hdc body section before starting the neckline shaping.
