5. WithMe signature heart
The same little heart sits on every WithMe original — our way of signing it with love. Use any contrast colour from the project.
- Round 1: 3 tr, 3 dc, ch, tr, ch, 3 dc, 3 tr in a magic ring [15] — Ch 3 first (it doesn't count as a stitch). After the last stitch, ch 3 and sl st into the ring, then pull the ring tight — the dip at the top of the heart forms as you pull.
- Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing the heart in place.
Finishing
- Pin the straps evenly on the inside of the bag, positioning them about 5 stitches apart from the side seams.
- Sew the straps securely to the inside of the bag using the tapestry needle and a strand of Warm Cream yarn.
- Sew the small signature WithMe heart in Warm Cream on the front center of the bag, placing it just below the sage green shell border.
- Weave in all remaining ends securely on the inside of the bag.
Tips from the WithMe studio
- Keep your puff stitches relaxed and loose to maintain the soft drape of the bag.
- If the base curls up at the edges, check your tension or add one extra increase round.
- Block the bag lightly if you want the shell border to lay perfectly flat.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use acrylic yarn instead of cotton?
Yes, but cotton provides a sturdier structure for bags that helps them hold their shape. If you use acrylic, consider adding a fabric lining for extra support.
How do I adjust the strap length?
Simply chain more or fewer stitches in the foundation row of the straps to achieve your desired crossbody or shoulder length.
