Pattern notes
- Ch 1 at the beginning of sc rows does not count as a stitch.
- Change colours on the last pull-through of the final stitch of the row.
- The signature WithMe heart is sewn on at the very end.
1. Bottom Border
Begin with a sturdy, soft border in dusty rose to frame the washcloth.

- Row 1: 33 ch [33]
- Row 2: sk, 32 sc picked up evenly [32]
- Rows 3–4: sc in each stitch across [32] — Work in Dusty Rose.
- Fasten off Dusty Rose if preferred, or carry yarn up the side.
2. Cozy Cream Body
Switch to warm cream for the main body, creating a soft, absorbent canvas.

- Rows 5–28: 32 sc picked up evenly [32] — Change to Warm Cream.
3. Sage Textured Panel
Add a pop of texture and colour with a raised waffle stitch panel in sage green.

- Rows 29–32: (FPdc, BPdc) × 16 picked up evenly [32] — Change to Sage Green.
4. Top Border
Mirror the bottom border to complete the frame in dusty rose.
- Rows 33–36: 32 sc picked up evenly [32] — Change to Dusty Rose.
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
5. Scalloped Edging
Finish with a delicate scalloped edge to give the washcloth a polished, giftable look.
- Round 1: 136 sc picked up evenly [136] — Pick up 136 sc evenly around all four edges in Dusty Rose (32 per side, 3 sc in each corner). Place a marker in the first stitch.
- Round 2: (sk, shell, 2 sk) × 34 [170]
- Slip stitch to the first sc to join, fasten off, and weave in the final end.
6. WithMe signature heart
The same little heart sits on every WithMe original — our way of signing it with love. Use any contrast colour from the project.
- Round 1: 3 tr, 3 dc, ch, tr, ch, 3 dc, 3 tr in a magic ring [15] — Ch 3 first (it doesn't count as a stitch). After the last stitch, ch 3 and sl st into the ring, then pull the ring tight — the dip at the top of the heart forms as you pull.
- Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing the heart in place.
Finishing
- Weave in all loose ends securely on the wrong side.
- Sew the small signature WithMe heart in the bottom right corner of the warm cream section, just above the dusty rose border.
- Block lightly with steam or wet blocking to ensure perfect square proportions and even edges.
Tips from the WithMe studio
- Keep your tension relaxed when working the fpdc and bpdc to prevent the fabric from puckering.
- Use a stitch marker on the first stitch of each row to keep your edges neat and straight.
- When picking up stitches along the sides, work evenly to avoid ruffling or pulling.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use acrylic yarn instead of cotton?
Cotton is highly recommended for dishcloths as it is absorbent and withstands hot water, but acrylic can be used for a decorative hand towel.
How do I change colours cleanly?
Work the last stitch of the old colour until two loops remain on the hook, then yarn over with the new colour and pull through to complete the stitch.
