Blush & Sage Bobble Beanie: Free crochet pattern

Abbreviations

• sc — single crochet
• inc — 2 sc in the same stitch
• dc — double crochet
• bobble — 5-dc bobble stitch
• BPdc — back post double crochet
• sc blo — single crochet in the back loop only

Pattern notes

• This hat is worked top-down in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker to track the end of each round.
• Colour changes are made at the end of the round. Pull up the new colour with a slip stitch to secure.
• The signature WithMe heart is sewn onto the folded brim at the end.

1. Crown

Starting in Warm Cream, we build the foundation of the hat using simple single crochet increases.

• Round 1: 12 sc in a magic ring [12]
• Round 2: inc × 12 [24]
• Round 3: (inc, sc) × 12 [36]
• Round 4: (inc, 2 sc) × 12 [48]
• Round 5: (inc, 3 sc) × 12 [60]
• Round 6: (inc, 4 sc) × 12 [72]

1. Fasten off Warm Cream and join Dusty Rose with a slip stitch.

2. Body

Working in Dusty Rose and Sage Green, we create the main height of the hat with a playful textured ring.

• Rounds 7–10: dc × 72 picked up evenly [72]
• Round 11: (3 dc, bobble) × 18 picked up evenly [72] — Change to Sage Green.
• Rounds 12–14: dc × 72 picked up evenly [72] — Change to Dusty Rose.
• Round 15: BPdc × 72 picked up evenly [72] — Change to Blush.

1. Fasten off Dusty Rose.

3. Brim

Finished in Blush, this dense, ribbed brim provides a snug, warm fit around the ears.

• Rounds 16–21: (sc blo, sc) × 36 picked up evenly [72]

1. Fasten off Blush, leaving a long tail for weaving in.

4. WithMe signature heart

The same little heart sits on every WithMe original — our way of signing it with love. Use any contrast colour from the project.

• Round 1: 3 tr, 3 dc, ch, tr, ch, 3 dc, 3 tr in a magic ring [15] — Ch 3 first (it doesn't count as a stitch). After the last stitch, ch 3 and sl st into the ring, then pull the ring tight — the dip at the top of the heart forms as you pull.

1. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing the heart in place.

Finishing

1. Fasten off and weave in all ends using a yarn needle.
2. Fold the brim up by 2.5 inches (6 cm) to create a thick, ribbed cuff.
3. Sew the small WithMe signature heart in Warm Cream onto the center front of the folded brim.
4. Block the hat lightly if needed to even out the stitches.

Tips from the WithMe studio

• When working the bobble stitch, keep your tension slightly loose to ensure the bobbles remain plump and rounded.
• If you prefer a slouchier fit, add two extra rounds of double crochet in the Dusty Rose section before the bobble ring.
