Pattern notes
- Turning chains are not counted as stitches in this pattern.
- Work in the back loop only (sc_blo) to create the ribbed texture at the hems and cuffs.
- The cardigan is worked in flat panels and seamed at the end for a simple, structured drop-shoulder fit.
1. Back Panel
Worked flat from the bottom up in Dusty Rose, starting with a ribbed hem and transitioning to a smooth body.

- Row 1: 41 ch [41]
- Row 2: sk, 40 sc [40]
- Rows 3–5: sc blo in each stitch across [40]
- Rows 6–21: hdc in each stitch across [40]
- Fasten off and leave a long tail for seaming.
2. Left Front Panel
Worked identically to the back panel but narrower, forming the left side of the cardigan.

- Row 1: 21 ch [21]
- Row 2: sk, 20 sc [20]
- Rows 3–5: sc blo in each stitch across [20]
- Rows 6–21: hdc in each stitch across [20]
- Fasten off and leave a long tail for seaming.
3. Right Front Panel
A mirror of the left front panel, completing the front opening of the cardigan.

- Row 1: 21 ch [21]
- Row 2: sk, 20 sc [20]
- Rows 3–5: sc blo in each stitch across [20]
- Rows 6–21: hdc in each stitch across [20]
- Fasten off and leave a long tail for seaming.
4. Sleeves
Worked in Sage Green from the cuff up. Make two identical sleeves.
- Row 1: 31 ch [31]
- Row 2: sk, 30 sc [30]
- Rows 3–4: sc blo in each stitch across [30]
- Rows 5–21: hdc in each stitch across [30]
- Fasten off, leaving a long tail for seaming the sleeve and attaching it to the body.
5. Neckband
Worked in Warm Cream by picking up stitches evenly around the finished neck edge.
- Round 1: 64 sc picked up evenly [64]
- Round 2: sc blo in each stitch around [64]
- Join with a slip stitch to the first sc, fasten off, and weave in the end.
6. WithMe signature heart
The same little heart sits on every WithMe original — our way of signing it with love. Use any contrast colour from the project.
- Round 1: 3 tr, 3 dc, ch, tr, ch, 3 dc, 3 tr in a magic ring [15] — Ch 3 first (it doesn't count as a stitch). After the last stitch, ch 3 and sl st into the ring, then pull the ring tight — the dip at the top of the heart forms as you pull.
- Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing the heart in place.
Finishing
- Block all panels lightly to even out the stitches and achieve the correct dimensions.
- Sew the shoulder seams of the back and front panels together.
- Fold each sleeve in half lengthwise and sew the underarm seam.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes and sew them securely to the body.
- Sew the side seams of the cardigan, continuing down to the hem.
- Weave in all remaining ends securely.
- Sew the standard signature heart in Warm Cream on the lower right front panel.
Tips from the WithMe studio
- Use stitch markers to divide the neck edge into quarters before picking up stitches to ensure they are distributed evenly.
- If you prefer a longer cardigan, simply add an even number of rows to the hdc sections of the back, front, and sleeve panels.
- Keep your tension relaxed when working the sc_blo ribbing to prevent the edges from curling or pulling in too tightly.

Frequently asked questions
Can I make this cardigan longer or shorter?
Yes! The pattern is easily customizable. Simply add or remove rows in the hdc sections of the back, front, and sleeve panels. Just ensure you add the same number of rows to the back and front panels so the hemlines match.
How do I pick up stitches evenly for the neckband?
Place a stitch marker at the center back neck and at each shoulder seam. Count your stitches between the markers to ensure you pick up the same amount on each side for a symmetrical finish.
What if my gauge is slightly off?
Since this is a relaxed, oversized drop-shoulder design, a slight variation in gauge will not ruin the fit. However, if your gauge is significantly different, you may need to adjust your hook size or add/subtract foundation chains to maintain the intended proportions.
